Entries for the ANZ Flying Start Business Plan Competition (a bit of a mouthfull I know) are closing soon. The total prize pool is $56,000 so it could well be worth your while!

Business.govt.nz’s 2nd Annual ANZ Flying Start Business Plan competition is now open for entries.
Enter now and you could be in to win $30,000 cash (total prize package of $56,000), as well as a $1,000 cash prize for each regional winner.
The business plan competition is aimed at start-up businesses and small to medium-sized enterprises nationwide. Business owners with sales of less than $2m for the year ending 31 March 2012 are eligible to enter. This includes business owners with a business idea that they want get off the ground who have not yet started trading.
The competition runs in two stages:
- Stage 1 will be a general call for entries, and
- Stage 2 will involve inviting short-listed entrants to send in a more detailed business plan.
Stage 1 is really easy, all you need to do is fill out a one page entry form which will be available here from Tuesday 22 May.
Stage 1 closes at 5pm, 26 June.
If you get short-listed into Stage 2, you will be in to win one of 16 regional prizes as well as the ultimate Supreme prize, which includes $30,000 cash to be used for business-growth-building opportunities. There is also a special $10,000 export travel prize for businesses with export potential to help you get overseas and meet potential trade partners.
Business.govt.nz resources will guide you through the whole application process, giving you all the tools and templates you need to put together your business plan.
