Here’s an exciting opportunity…We’re hiring!

Hamish Mexted Odds & Ends

A little bit about us

iif Chartered Accountants are a tight team focused on challenging ourselves and our customers to try new things. We are:

  • Paperless and (more-or-less) 100% Xero
  • Constantly improving our products and how we deliver them
  • Aware of and open about our shortcomings
  • Fast paced and probably a bit OCD about some things
  • Focused on who our ideal customer is and gear our processes around them

What we need

As a new firm (three and a half years old) we’re growing fast. We need someone to:

  1. Help us keep up with the work we’ve got coming in the door and
  2. Provide input into improving systems, process and delivering better service to our customers

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Preparing Financial Statements and Tax Returns
  2. Coming up with ideas to grow our customer’s businesses
  3. Helping develop and grow our business and other staf

Who we’re looking for someone who is

  • CA qualified or close to being CA qualified
  • Happy to work in a role that’s never existed before (which means you’ve got the chance to shape and develop your own role)
  • Familiar with NZ tax rules
  • Extremely well organised and good at communicating
  • Good with technology (which probably goes without saying) including Xero and add-ons

What’s in it for you

  • A hard working, but relaxed (no, this isn’t an oxymoron) and fun environment
  • Fair pay
  • The ability to grow as the business grows
  • Access to customers and being able to work directly with Hamish (the sole director)
  • A rewarding place to work where your opinion is valued and you’re encouraged to try new things (we know, this sounds a bit cheesy but it’s what we’re all about)

How to apply

  • Send your resume in PDF format to [email protected]
  • Please do not include a separate cover letter. The body of your email will act as your cover letter. I’m not a huge fan of reading resumes (who is?), so I will read the email first. Tell me something interesting about yourself or about a risk you’ve taken in the past, and why you’re applying for the position.
  • Include “I’m not a boring accountant” in the subject line of your email. If you don’t, your application won’t get read. No joke.
