You may know me as a Client Advisor at iif Chartered Accountants, but off the clock, you’ll find me outdoors, cheering for the All Blacks or the Hurricanes, or hanging out with my four older siblings and my nieces and nephews.
What’s something people might not know about you?
I was an international gymnast! I have represented New Zealand in Australia, South Africa and Hawaii. I qualified for the 2010 Commonwealth Games, but unfortunately I injured my ankle so I couldn’t compete. Sadly, the injury put an end to my gymnastics career too.
Now, I do crossfit to keep fit. I also love hiking, mountain biking, swimming… or anything outdoors really!
Why did you choose accounting?
My dream career when I was younger was actually to be a policewoman! But I quickly realised I was too much of a chicken… So I went for accounting instead. Maybe I’m just a sucker for rules and regulations?
Why iif Chartered Accountants?
I worked in a large accounting firm for a couple of years, and decided I’d like to try a smaller firm. I scouted out Hamish and his awesome crew at iif and it seemed like a perfect fit!
What’s the best part about your job?
My favourite part is is learning about and understanding a range of different businesses. I love helping clients sort out their accounting. Business owners are always incredible at running their company, but often the taxes and cash flow hang over their head like a gloomy cloud. It’s a good feeling to be able to take away that dark cloud for them – clients really appreciate it when you can remove that stress.
