Meet The Team: Eugenie Jones

Eugenie Jones Odds & Ends

Being born in Wellington, I decided rather then moving down to Dunedin as most of my friends were I would stay in Wellington and study at Victoria university. I am currently in my third year of study here, completing a commerce degree.

Moving out of my parents’ house, working and trying to study full time was definitely a bit of a reality shock to start with, however I feel I have significantly improved my time management and organization skills and have decreased the amount of all-nighters I have to do!

Throughout school I remember everyone stressing about what they were going to do when they finished, I was lucky as I always knew I wanted to do accounting (to most people’s surprise!). I don’t remember what bought on this obsession, but it has stuck with me.

Becoming part of iif and seeing the work that my co-workers do has definitely reinstated that this was the right career choice for me.

When I am not at work or studying at university I really enjoy experimenting in the kitchen! (probably to my partners horror.) I like to keep fit at the gym, but you can also find me blobbed out on the couch watching TV series surrounded by junk food!

What is the best thing about working at iif?

I haven’t worked here for long, but already I feel part of the team (I hope they feel the same!). There is such a great atmosphere and I actually look forward to coming into work!

What’s your favorite part of the job?

As weird as it sounds, I love coming in and seeing a big pile of tasks on my desk and being able to tick off each one as the day goes on. I love being organized and physically ticking off lists!
