We’re on the hunt for someone to join the team. Here’s a copy of the ad:
We’re a small accounting firm and have enjoyed huge growth over the past three years. We’re after someone to help us stay on top of it all. Checkout our website, www.iif.co.nz, for more info on what we’re all about.
You’ll be responsible for all the usual accounting “stuff”. If you’ve looked at the other the other jobs on Trade Me you’ll know what we mean. If you need it explained, you’re probably not the person for us, but we’ll spell it out for you anyway:
- Preparing tax returns and financial statements
- Monthly management reports for customers
- Reviewing GST returns
- Forecasting, cashflow management and generally helping our customers to do what they do better
Ideally you’ll be CA qualified, but if you feel like you’re the right person please still apply. We’re an approved NZICA Approved Training Organisation so could help the right person achieve their CA qualification.
We expect this to be a full time role. That said, if you’re the right person we could make it a part time role (20 hour minimum).
You’ll be working in a relatively autonomous role, although will be in a very supportive environment. You’ll be expected to see things through to completion, and help others to do the same.
We’re focused on helping our customers understand what their numbers mean. It’s important you can communicate in plain English – both in writing and verbally.
You can’t be a technology dinosaur. We’re all Xero, paperless and tend to jump onto new technology as soon as it’s available. Experience with Evernote, WordPress, Xero or Spotlight Workpapers is a huge advantage. Experience in sales, networking or finding new business is an even bigger plus. Experience with MYOB isn’t.
